Kelsey Nordal and Michelle Ballantyne always envisioned themselves being surrounded by nature. The two BFs, who first met as business students at the University of San Diego, immediately bonded over a mutual love of the natural world and, more pressingly, a love of trying to capture the majesty of the great outdoors.
MK Envision Galleries to Feature Nature and Landscape Photography October 7 Grand Opening Planned San Diego – September 2, 2016 – When MK Envision Galleries owners Michelle Ballantyne and Kelsey Nordal met freshman year at USD in 2005, they had no idea what was ahead.
USD alumnae open photo gallery in Liberty Station
Both University of San Diego alumnae, the pair have teamed to create MK Envision Galleries, the latest art gallery to be opened in the growing arts district of Liberty Station. The 1,700-square-foot ground-floor gallery space is in an old barracks building at the former Point Loma Naval Training Center.
When we identified the things we wanted out of the location for our gallery, these are the things we knew: we want to be accessible to the public, among like-minded people, somewhere unique, and somewhere creative...Once we considered Liberty Station, we needn’t look further.
This first blog entry is a dual effort. We each went home and independantly wrote an entry answering the question "How did MK Envision Galleries come to be?" We did not see each others responses until just before publishing. Read on to see whether we are as like-minded as we claim to be! We hope you enjoy.
